Kept While Lost

Things happen in their own time. What may be “lost” at this moment is really being kept until it is truly appreciated.

Take your time to mature your faith and invest in your confidence. Certain levels of success and growth are out of reach because we lack the agenda or motive to understand the process.

Step by step really is the best way to stop overlooking the message through the trials and errors.

It is then we find gems polished by the storm.

Why is everybody trippinnnn?
What’s really good in the hood?
Who’s losing they mind?
Can’t seem to find a way, to pass the test. Keep coming back to the same problem. Can’t find the strength to truly solve them..to put them to sleep bury them under. To trapped them down.

Bound
Bound
Bound
Silence, you just need some gratitude. Someone to appreciate you.
Honey, I know exactly what’s the matter!
You are waiting for someone else to recognize your gifts, to speak in ya spirit. To love on you. To want you. To need you. To hold you. And squeeze you. And please you.
Well then do it for yourself!
Will it for yourself.
Live it! Be it! Call upon it.
Let it fill you. Fill you..
Say, I am beautiful.
I am wonderfully made.
I am.created to be my best.
Whatever I put my mind to I can pass the test. This won’t hold me for long. I am stronger than my situations. Stronger than hardships. Stronger than my heartache. Stronger than my thoughts of doubt. Because I love myself too much to count me out. My wisdom comes from experiences which make me strong. God is keeping me here. I must go on.

Where Are You Going

Communicate or disintegrate.

Participate or Contemplate.

Prepare or Want.

Do or Dream.

Improve or Patch-Up.

Accountable or Unreliable.

Go-Getter or User.

Whatever you choose, is solely up to you, but don’t choose wisely and watch where it will lead you.

The words you speak to yourself will manifest within you. It will drive you to make the choices which will later speak of you.

The ability to choose wisdom in the whirlwind of a storm, makes it easier to enjoy those moments of calm.

Your life is awaiting on you to choose.

Now, what will you do….

Choices

I am all in ya personal business today! This is a question I have been pondering in my mind lately.

People say you choose to love, but I say you also choose to trust. So since you have a choice in the matter, is one sufficient without the other? Or is it a package deal?

As always, don’t be scurred to talk back to me. Click an answer and let me know how ya’ll view it.

Let me hear your perspective.

Peace and Blessings.

Happy Loving.

Happy Trusting

Growth

before I took a step

before I made a move

it never existed

I never knew

The day I stopped being afraid

And stood up to procrastination

I erased my place in the book

of most complacent.

I focused on all that God has given me

And thanked him for blessing me with plenty.

I casted away my fears and all my doubts

And only clung to lovely things to pull the work out.

I sat down at the screen and begin to type.

And from that day forward, it has brought a joyous light

I pray to always be in love with writing

Because the effort I put into it

has been so enlightening.

It has shown me my faults, my highs and my lows

And best of all, it shows my growth.

Growing: Bite Off What You Can Chew

When I was younger, I was a fanatic for the Barney Show. I knew what time the show came on, the characters’s names and even the names of the kids on the show.

Barney had a song for any type of situation a child may experience growing up; I think that’s what I enjoyed most about the show, Barney not only spoke about certain issues, he had a catchy song to help you remember the moral of the stories.

One of the many songs that stick out to me is the “Growing” song. Now in the song Barney is referencing the physical form of growing. Here’s a snippet:

Growing, we do it everyday

We’re growing when we’re sleeping

And even when we play

And as we grow a little older we can do more things

Because I’m growing, and so are you.

Growing can be a wonderful experience and it can be a not so wonderful experience. Sometimes we look so forward to future developments of our lives and other times we dread the thought of what may be to come.

I think we can become so comfortable with what we have accomplished, because we struggled for a season to reach a plateau, that we become complacent, not even seeking to make what we have evolve into something more _______. Any positive word will do.

For instance, you finally started making a salary, but you don’t invest or save. You finally have a place of your own, but you don’t keep it clean. You finally begin a relationship with someone you love, but you don’t implement action for contingency.

Effort is the root to Growth. You can not gain a wholistic sense of growth, without effort. Everything you acquire in life will take some effort on your part somewhere. To expect things to change and to development in your life without you preparing and making decisions and PHYSICALLY moving, is cra cra on a whole ‘nother level.

You have to focus your breathing on your desires, your positive thoughts. Focus your tongue on speaking the words from your desires and your positive thoughts. Then move your feet and hands to the rhythm of your words spoken. It is a wholistic effort of the body to produce those thoughts and desires. To produce the growth you know you need and should be seeking.

Life as we know will continue to go on, with or without your participation, ask a deceased person; but seriously don’t let not putting forth effort be the reason you never grow, you never stretch your limitless talents and gifts. Bite off what you can chew, digest it, and then bite off some more.

I believed everything Barney said about growing, that as we grow older, we can do more things!

Because when we put forth the effort, growth is inevitable.

Here’s to you my fellow man, to effort, to growth, to us all.

Peace and Blessings

Commitment: This Will Change Your Perspective

com·mit·ment
kəˈmitmənt/
noun
  1. 1.
the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc.
    “the company’s commitment to quality”
  2. 2.
an engagement or obligation that restricts freedom of action.
    “business commitments”

Earlier this morning I began to watch videos on Youtube, due to my boycott on cable…long story.

But in watching a couple of Oprah episodes, I came across a T D Jakes sermon on Commitment. I clicked the link out of curiosity and was blown away by the truth he was serving up. The things he spoke on regarding commitment hit home hard. It made me re-evaluate my position with commitment and how I am with my goals and aspirations. And also my commitments with God, my family and my friends.

You don’t have to be a religious person to appreciate this message, only someone who looks to evaluate what you can do to make better decisions in your life.

Take the time to watch. I promise, you will be enlightened.

Peace and Blessings.

Long Live The Writer

This morning I thought about how much I learned and took away from characters in a book, how their ‘lives” made such an impression upon me. How they taught me how to be the person I want to be. How they showed me what could become of me if I only pushed myself to do so.

Lessons, serious lessons, have been given to me: how to recognize if one of my friends were being abused, how to say no to peer pressure or unwanted advances, how to respect myself, my mind, my temple. And how to love better.

Gosh, if it had not been for my mom making my sister and I live at the library every other weekend and every summer,  My uncle and my aunt giving me a journal every year for Christmas until I was a senior in college; I would have missed the amazing ability to write and to love to write.

Our gift is one to be shared. We illuminate the world with a reality that is needed for most. We create people who bring great comfort, joy, conversation, debate, thought, conviction, confirmation…and at times sadness, to others. We make someone’s day better after a long day at work or school.

We create stories others cannot put down, so they read while they ride the train, bus or carpool. They read as they await appointments. while their children attend karate practice or play in the backyard. We create material used for reference, we create a niche for our amazing talent.

I never want any of you to think your writing is in vain, someone somewhere is in search of what you have to say. So despite the financial flow and the mass appeal of your work, continue to breathe into the world your gift of writing. Help someone escape, help someone cope, help someone laugh, help someone grieve, help someone understand.

Write my friend.

Write.

When experience is overlooked.

When words are mistook

Out of context.

When effort seems ideal.

But the thought of putting it forth

Just doesn’t appeal.

When time seems so unreal.

Until you look back and realize you are no longer “here.”

When you are no longer exempted

 But expected to try

When you are expected to be strong and provide

When the creative flow alludes you

Won’t even come out and talk to you.

Chill.

Don’t force what is. Sometimes it can be too raw. Too real.

Not that you need a mass appeal.

But what you put out, comes back to you.

Through those who channel the work you do.

So when it seems hesitant.

Embrace the wait time,

at least you know, eventually,

You will be next

In the line.
