Checking in + Storytime

Hi Readers,

I know it’s been a while since I opened my bright idea mouth and shared the news to expand the flow of HEY GIRL HEY!!! And while I’m still toiling over ideas, I honestly haven’t written down a committed P.O.V. on it…

Truth. Reading it sounds harsh, but it’s still my truth. Up to me to change it. In the meantime I am continuing to be social both off and online….Which leads me to my story.

Someone on my IG yesterday posted a video that still has me like,”what in thee *insert what you like* did I just witness?!?!

I believe myself to be pretty open minded, just because I don’t subscribe to something someone else does, does not mean I don’t love them; however I can be quite prudishūüėá.

And what I witnessed yesterday is one of those things where I’m like, where do we draw the moral line on social media?

I asked a question via my personal social media some months ago; Morals: The fear of judgement and asked if it were true or false. People gave their answer but no explanation…guess I should have prompted them. *noted*

Then what is the purpose of morals if on one hand what’s appropriate to share to others isn’t the same for the next person who receives it?

When do we begin to reasonably modify our entertainment for the, dare I say, innocence of others?

Because believe it or not, there actually a couple of a lotta things I can do without seeing ever in life.

However, isn’t that the slippery slope of being social? You’re bound to bump into a “was not expecting that at all” moment. May it not be as traumatic as the one I am currently attempting to rid my thoughts of. ūüėĮūüėē

Post responsibly. Know your audience.

Motivation for Perspective: Go Getter Monday

I recently had a talk with a colleague who is also a good friend, and I shared my frustrations about wanting to step out as a full time entrepreneur, but naught having a tangible product or vision.

So many ideas are running through my mind, and I know the passion is there to promote the brand, but my work ethic has taken a spiral for in that area.

Laziness leads to a total lack of commitment.

And in listening to and realizing the truth and my part in allowing things to go so far left, I understood that I changed.

I wasn’t focused on the biggest picture, and I lost the lesson of:
Complete One Idea at a Time
1) Make two columns
     A. What am I actually doing
     B. What I actually want to do
2)Prioritize your columns
What are you most passionate about
3) Decide how your lists overlap
     A. What things go hand in hand
¬§ create a flow chart of how one completed passion fuels the next
4)Plan your effort
    A. What’s your new routine for success
        ¬§ i.e. 9am -meditate
        ¬§       9:30am-work on sketches
What are you willing to do to bring your passion to life?

5) Make it work
You are the only determining factor in how successful you are and will be.

Energy can naught be denied, it attracts what it puts out.

I felt my power source to be weak, but that is because my mindset was weakening, I wasn’t focused nor active and I wasn’t seeking the right energy. It reflected in my creation of….well, nothing.

Moral of the story is, don’t let lazy take hold of you. It’s okay to chill and relax, but watch that!

Don’t allow lazy to become your routine.

Happy Flyy Girl Feature Friday Mofros!

I am so happy to present to you another, Fabulous Brown Blogger Beauty, whose personality definitely makes bringing you features on them, that much more fun for me. I get a chance to find new bloggers to follow and befriend and that’s¬†cool for me as much as I hope it is for each of you!

Today’s Flyy Girl Feature has a blog that¬†not only gives you the curvy layout of¬†Plus¬†Size fashion, but fun, engaging¬†stories of real life experiences.

I love Optimistic Women.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Ms.Char Reynolds

Please introduce yourself to the readers:Charnoglasses

Char Reynolds, NYC (by way of Louisiana)

Tell us about your blog; Evolution of a Fat Fashionista
Evolution of a Fat Fashionista is a fashion, body image, and beauty blog. It’s pretty much an extension of my personality: a mix of nail polish, pretty shoes, and learning how to love the skin I’m in.
Why did you begin blogging?
¬†I am getting back into the blogging game after taking a break from my other (now closed) blog, Hyde and Seek. There, I focused more on just body image issues and fat acceptance. With Evolution of a Fat Fashionista, I am adding in the fashion and makeup side to my activism, because I am always evolving (pun intended!) and learning that I can be beautiful, fat, and fashionable and these don’t have to be mutually exclusive.
What motivates you to dedicate time to blogging?
I have to have an outlet. Writing has been a way to keep myself sane and focused, and I love being able to either uplift someone or make them laugh with my antics. It’s just been an overall amazing way for me to connect with people, and I love it!
In one year, what do you hope manifests from your blogging?
In one year, I hope to continue to grow my readership and build up my YouTube channel I have connected to the blog.
Name two of your favorite bloggers you follow:Charwglasses
On the fashion side, I’m a huge fan of Gabi of Reading her blog has pushed me to attempt different trends I wouldn’t have tried before. On the beauty side, I love vlogger Missy Lynn (, she has such wonderful, easy tutorials.
What legacy do you want to leave behind for others to know about you?
I want people to know…that I was a person. A perfectly flawed person who lived her life learning to love all of herself, and (hopefully) taught others to love themselves too. As they are, because they’re enough. You can wear and eat what you love and love yourself all at once.
Upcoming projects or events:
¬†Upcoming projects: I love to cook and I am writing a cookbook. I’m going to add some recipes to the blog as part of a new feature starting in September. Look for the cookbook to be out at the beginning of next year!
Make sure to keep up with Char via social media to get heaping eye candy on her fabulous meals and recipe ideas. And don’t forget to stop by her blog and subscribe!¬† Have a Happy Flyy Girl Feature Friday.

Rest Stops along the path towards success, are not meant for us to stay and become comfortable.
They are REST Stops for a real reason; use that time to reflect, regroup and take action.
Sometimes, I get to chilling so hard at the Rest Stop, that I don’t just rest, I come to a complete STOP.
And that is dangerous for not only me, but those around me. Because if I were living my true purpose, they would better understand who I am and where I am coming from.
When we take an extended Rest, we start to tell ourselves and others, this is all I am….which is a lie.
And when we are using our Rest Stops appropriately, hopefully we are reflecting the right light and inspiring those around us.
For it is truly our calling in life, to imprint good upon this Earth and how can we do that if we are resting all the time?

Time waits for no man nor woman, so what is now won’t be later. Take full advantage of those opportunities presented to you. Make something from¬† lack and I know it will come back ten times more.

Time to pull off….

Flyy Girl Feature Friday: Britteny McZeal

Honey, it is finally Flyy Girl Feature Friday, and I for one am glad about it!

Sometimes fashion blogs can seem to mimmick each other and there seems not to be one that quite suites my oh so short attention span, and then I stumbled upon a blog

that unapologetically gives commentary to the world of fashion, with a fun and sopho-edge-chic feel.

Candidly Creole is like opening your favorite fashion magazine and actually enjoy reading the stories

 that accompany each picture.

Ladies and Gentlemen you are in for a great new discovery,

                                              Miss Britteny McZeal.BrittanyMcZeal

Please introduce your to the readers.

My name is Brittney from Lafayette, Louisiana.

Tell a little about your blog, Candidly Creole:

My blog, Candidly Creole, is  a collection of my candid thoughts on topics like fashion, pop culture, music, books, and makeup.  Basically, anything I’m really feeling at the moment  Рa song, an outfit idea, a face product Рgets blogged about.

Why did you begin blogging?

One reason why I began blogging is because I like to create things. I love making graphics and taking pictures, and that was one of the primary reasons why I started to blog.

What motivates you to dedicate time to blogging?
I originally began blogging as a way to pass the time, but over the year it has grown to be something I really enjoy doing. This is probably my 4th blog to date and it’s been the only one that I’ve been the most consistent with. Sometimes, however, I do find a little difficult for me to stick with a schedule or think of a good blog post. But in the end, I just blog about what I want to blog about and not what I think I should blog about.

In one year, what do you hope manifests from your blogging?
In one year, I hope to build more connections and communication with other bloggers and creatives across the internet.

Name two of your favorite bloggers you follow.CandidlyCreole1

Two of my favorite bloggers are Christina from ProFresh Style and Carmen from She Recycles Fashion because they are super stylish.

What legacy do you want to leave behind for others to know about you?

I’ve never really thought about this before, but I want others to know that I am a passionate and hardworking individual.

Upcoming projects or events?

I can’t really think of any upcoming events or projects, but if I do I will let you know!

Be sure to follow Britteny on WordPress and stay in the know on what’s hot and fun on Candidly Creole!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Ms. Andrea “Drea” C.NaturalleDreatree

Welcome! Please introduce yourself to the readers:

Andrea C., New Jersey

Tell us a little about your blog, Naturalle Drea.

My outlet for talking about my love of natural hair, makeup, fashion, life and anything beauty related.

Why did you begin blogging?

The idea just came to me one day when I was at home on my day off. I wanted to do something that was me, outside of being mommy, girlfriend, friend and daughter. I wanted an outlet where I could talk about my natural hair journey, products that I love so much and about life. I knew blogging would give me that outlet I wanted and be able to connect with those that share the same passion as I do.
What motivates you to dedicate time to blogging?
I want to be a successful blogger and I’ve learned along the way that you have to really put in the time, dedication and work to make it successful. Nothing comes easy and you have to work for it. I am driven by success. Plus I have fallen so much in love with blogging., that¬†if I could, I would blog everyday.¬†
In one year, what do you hope manifests from your blogging?
I hope to continue to grow my readers and followers. I also want to put out better content and just be an overall better blogger than the year before.
Who are two of your favorite bloggers you follow?
What legacy do you want to leave behind for others to know about you?NaturalleDreaFace1
